How old were you when you packed in playing football?

34 after the doctor that that had just reset my dislocated ankle & broken metatarsals told me if I everwent in for a 50/50 with that foot again it would be flopping around like a freshly landed fish.

25 broke tib n fib after a fight in The Queens Head Birtley. 10 days in hospital, hardly kicked a ball since in 26 years. (Wasn't even my fight. My brother got chinned for feck all so I went to help out haha)

Still playing 11-a-side now at 33. Keep saying every season is my last due to family commitments and persistent injuries but I cannot give it up.

Although I do love playing, it's probably more to do with the banter with the lads

29 ,played 5aside twice a week dislocated my knee cap at 27 then again at 29 so I'm done ,so cycling and the gym for me nothing comes close to a kick about though

I'm 19 and I don't play any competitive footy. I still like to have a kick about, but I'm not fit enough to play it properly. I'm also pretty shite. I think I'll try and get really into it in the next year though.

32 whenI stopped playing for Sale City in the Gippsland League in Victoria.

Played regularly since about the age of ten.

Stopped playing for about 6 month when I was 30 but then went on a health kick and played again but a knee injury eneded it as I couldn't afford to get injured anymore for work. Interest rates at the time for a mortgage were about 16%

Only ever played a few five a side games after that but too competitive to watch kids glide passed me.

Get asked a few times to play in work games even now. No chance of that though as the beer has not been kind to my belly.

Stopped at about 35. I'm 43 now.

Used to play 5/7s and 11 a side when I was in my early 20s....have had circularity problems with Legs for most of my adult life and although it didn't hinder me performance wise the pain afterwards got too much and just wasn't worth it.

Really miss going out for runs too.

Getting old is so depressing :(
