How often do you get your haircut ?

Every 4-6 weeks, 1 on the back and sides and take the small amount of grey off the top (plus a half inch or so)

Just glad that I still have to get it cut to be honest. Majority of my friends haven’t been so lucky

Once a month since it grew back after chemo, not having to pay for a haircut for a year saved a few pennies like. Still gan short back and sides being 40 don't think I can pull off the skin fade like my mates get like.

I used to get a number 1 or 0.5 clipper cut every 4 to 5 weeks then I moved to a self-administered head shave during lock down.

But about 5 months ago I started getting little red bumps on my scalp, visited a pharmacist who recommended a medicated shampoo that made it worse and required a doctors appointment to, initially, rid myself of the infection via antibiotics… then 3 months of another sort of antibiotic to deal with the actual condition which is folliculitis (“ common skin condition that happens when hair follicles become inflamed”) plus creams and lotions to speed up the infection busting process.

I’m ready for another haircut now, I think, because it’s recommended not to touch your bonce while treatment progresses. I’m finished the antibiotics next week and although there appears to be scarring, it’s looking ok, from what I can see. So I’m booking an appointment and hoping that the process doesn’t render me with a scalp looking like a relief map of the surface of Mars again.

I know what you're going through marra, I also have folliculitis, been over 8 months now. What medications worked for you, I have tried a few but none of them seem to clear it up.

I’m not sure it has cleared up tbh. It’s looking like it has but I’m exceedingly nervous about a clipper haircut I’ve arranged for next week in case it exacerbates whatever residual inflammation is remaining or causes a relapse.

In addition to the first months worth of antibiotics plus the different type of antibiotics I’ve taken for three months (just about to complete), I’ve avoid all soaps and shampoos on my head apart from Dermol (which was recommended in the leaflet my gp sent me) and is an antiseptic / moisturising agent that can be used as a straight scalp application or as a replacement shampoo. And if, at first I got inflammations I used a little tcp but replaced that with savlon cos the missus didn’t like the aroma.

Not sure if that was strictly necessary. But I was (as the doctor said) ‘aggressive’ with the treatment.

Fingers crossed.

A simple 5 month would have done.

Once a fortnight because I like being kept up to date with the trials and tribulations and other mundane aspects of the barbers life.

I used hibiscrub when I had an infection that required the skin to be ultra clean. It’s an antimicrobial skin cleanser used in hospitals, apparently.

Normally when the wife complains, could be anything from a month to 2.5 months .

Grade 1 back and sides, bit of blended into a bit of length on the top. Pay a tenner and that has gone up post covid.

Im nee oil painting anyway so zero f's given.
