How many on here only work Monday to Friday?

Did that shift for 7 years
2 days then 2 nights then 4 off.
Hated the fact most weekends were affected by this. Especially the summer …Saturday night , people are having BBQ’s and you heading into work ☹️
Mine were 4 straight days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off.
Yeah, you did have runs where you worked weekends one after the other, but then you also had the opposite of course. Coming off 2 nights every time would have annoyed me though, being knackered for 2 days out of 4 days off every pattern isn't fair imo.
Ok, I was MORE tired coming off 4 nights in a row, but that was every other shift pattern, so from coming off days at 7pm, until going on nights actually 5 days later was great, 4 clear days off to do whatever I wanted. Plus, 4 days of leave (for the nights) gets you 12 days off!

Never worked weekends unless it was on my terms and there was at least double-time on offer.

One of my old bosses once asked me to come in on a Saturday at flat-rate as a favour to him. Guess what answer he got?

Working in a restaurant then a bar put me off working weekends. Work in a factory now and get all weekends and bank holidays off. Hate the fact I have to spend so much of my time doing something I don't want to just for two days off though, I'd much rather work four longer days to have three off.

Spend 5 hours on stand by every other Saturday. I've never hardly done owt in the 7 years I've been doing it though. Sit in the house and check the laptop every half hour.

As a result I get every other Thursday off which is handy for providing a day's free childcare for the grandson which helps his ma and da out. Also nice to have a few quiet pints in pubs which are less busy than on a weekend.

id hate to be on call mind.

Last Saturday was the first time I've worked a weekend in about 5 years. Finished by 1pm and earned £350 as it was price work. It's hard being a manual flasker.

I changed my hours a few weeks back to have every weekend off. Before that, I worked most Saturdays and Sundays and took random days off throughout the week, sometimes just working all the way through.

However, I now realise how nice it feels to leave work on a Friday night and not have to think about it again until Monday morning. Weekend bliss. I wish I'd done it years ago!
Two day weekend not long enough should be mon - thurs

I don't work weekends these days but have done in the past. Didn't bother me then but wouldn't like to go back to working to them.

There must be just as many people working weekends.
How are we able to do stuff at weekends if nobody could facilitate that?
I'd say not before modern shifts and stuff
yeah retail has expanded but surely the bulk of the work in this country is done in working hours ,monday to friday ?
Of course there's work outside of that to be done
That other section are at their busiest when we all clock off for the weekend

Only work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Wednesday off really breaks the week up and does wonders for my mental health.
I've been thinking about going to 4 days or 9 day fortnight for a while. I can't really afford it now but a new job I'm starting might just change that. Wednesday is the day I was thinking of having off and that way you never work more than two days in a row. That really appealed to me. But, I think one of the key meetings of the week is going to be a Wednesday so that one might not be possible.

If you work your life away you amass a bit more money for that effort but generally amass a lot more bills as your reward, only to end up working all the hours you can fit in and having no real way out of it.

5 days a week allows some scope for odd extra work sporadically to allow a few more comforts without tying you down to your job.

Work to live, do not live to work.

Mon to Fri...permanent days...7 til 3:30..
Done the 3 shifts and continentals lark..
Days suits me these days...25 years of shifts had me knackered....
Have proper dad naps now!🤣🤣
