How many on here only work Monday to Friday?

I changed my hours a few weeks back to have every weekend off. Before that, I worked most Saturdays and Sundays and took random days off throughout the week, sometimes just working all the way through.

However, I now realise how nice it feels to leave work on a Friday night and not have to think about it again until Monday morning. Weekend bliss. I wish I'd done it years ago!

I don’t work at all now. But I don’t think I had a Friday when I left work and didn’t think about it (or need to do something to prepare) until Monday morning from about 1988 till I retired in 2020. And I’d say that was the case from about 1980 till 1984 too. Just the nature of the various work I got involved in.

Haven't had a job which worked weekends since 1999.

That's not to say that I sometimes don't do some work on weekends to catch up or hit a deadline but I don't get paid for it.

Work them if I fancy being greedy, probably work about 15/20 Saturdays a year and even then I’m usually home for 1/2.

Worked Monday-Friday for quite a few years now.

Last job I had we only worked 4.5 hours on a Friday which meant the nightshift lads finished at 9.30pm

Aside from a summer holiday job when I was a student that was shift based I’ve always been Monday to Friday. Odd occasion where there is a panic on and I’ve worked over the weekend in the house to catch up.

Remember saying to an old lad I once worked with “I wish it was Friday” to which he replied “Don’t wish your life away” my reply to that was “ Ok then, I wish it was last Friday”.
Loved my weekends.

I don’t work weekends. Very occasionally have to travel back on a Saturday morning from somewhere or travel to somewhere for a Monday.

Doing pretty much the same here. Worked nights & weekends for the past 6 years. Random days off during the week when I can take them. Will be going mon-fri 9-5 as of next month. Canny drop in pay but looking forward to having weekends off and being able to switch off from work.

I did 25 years in factories. Not a very rewarding job but ultimately you new what time you started and new what time you finished. Any weekend overtime was done on your terms and when it suited you. Was great just switching off knowing you'd finished and didn't have to think about it again till you started. Don't get me wrong I certainly never enjoyed going to work but that type of work and the hours it entailed was great for a work life balance

Worked Mon-Fri for 40 year thank god that’s all behind me now. Always had a work ethic, to the point (with regret now) I put it as a priority. Now I look back and think WTF was I thinking, everyone is replaceable.

I stepped away from shifts 6 years ago and never looked back. I now do 4 longer days and have Mondays off too which gives me a long weekend every week but I fill up a Sunday at least once a month with an ambulance shift but that doesn’t feel like work now strangely.

Got out of a job in Shipping about a year ago where I was working weekends Bank Holidays etc with lots of travel as well.....in some instances I was lucky to get a two/three days off a month.....got my weekends back now and it's class....
