It’s not irrelevant. I think it speaks volumes about societies that it is illegal in most European countries.

I have never hit my children and never will. I’ll bet you my car vs your car that I am not the only one.

The answer by the way is only 3: Switzerland, Czech Republic and Italy. I was surprised Poland wasn’t included. Hitting children seems to be acceptable there (based on talking to two Polish mothers I know) but is apparently illegal.
