How long will the US last?

Yes Russia and other places around the world are worse, but they are not Western Countries and certainly don't pretend to be perfect like the US does. That's the important difference.

Surely a good thing about living in the US is if you're not comfortable with the 18th century outlook on life in Georgia you can up sticks and move to the more liberal and cosmopolitan California.
 
I have a friend who lives and works in Texas and he has a very very good life. For him he is South African and his life was also good ish when he was growing up. He lived in a nice house and had a great job his education was top notch. Now he is living the American dream with a massive amount of land with a huge house and a very very good job. His kids go to a dual language school and are doing very well indeed. We went over 2 years ago and the small city/town he lives in is so nice and the crime levels are almost non existent. He's more privileged than most and I think that makes a massive difference when living in America.
