How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

The attacker is also jumping into the challenge at an angle and wasn't stationary jumping directly upwards. If there was a camera angle from the sidelines then you'd see more of just how far the attacker was moving forward as he jumped.

To think that is a penalty is a bit baffling. Patterson ran to jump but his jump movement in the air isn't that much more than the attacker's movement towards the ball after jumping as you can see when you show just the jump itself.

Crazy that some are still arguing otherwise, I could understand it somewhat if it was staunch Cardiff fans arguing, but these are Sunderland fans, only on here.

Also, still baffled how the ref hasn't given the foul considering how close he was to the incident, it's so bad.

Why should that make a difference? Are you questioning this boards ability to view incidents objectively without being influenced by bias towards their club?

You're right mind. The Cardiff forum would ge going ballistic if that was given as a foul. So would this one if that's your attacker on their goalkeeper.

I wonder what most neutrals would say about this incident?

So why was the attacker's arm so high ?. There was real impact if you look at how both players landed. Clearly the forward was determined to impede the keeper. Ref had just one look, but VAR I think would have disallowed it.

Pathetic, he jumped about 1 to 2 feet off the ground he's vastly overweight and looks sluggish. It was the same the goal against with Roberts...he didn't leave the ground.

It's getting to the stage where this lad will be targeted, he's a big weaklink.

They have told me 100% foul and I’ve lived down in Yorkshire 35 years, majority are neutral.
 
Clear foul mind, and shows some people go too far the other way when it comes to goalkeepers and being overly protected.

Patterson literally has his hands taken away from the ball by another player using their arm to do so. Anyone who claims it’s ‘weak’ I’d love to see their attempt at not moving their hands whilst in mid air when a six foot bloke is pushing them.
