How can a team play so differently & fans opinions swing so much in 2 weeks?

It really is mad. I mean SAFC were disgraceful at Newca5t1e & then within a week or 2 we pick up 7 points & muller the league champs.

Now us fans are now dreaming of europe when 2 weeks ago some sections wanted "the fat geordie bastard out" & worst SAFC team in the history of footy etc

Totally mental.....discuss!!

It's not totally mental. We fans were hurting big time after that thrashing, and many were posting a lot of crap for a few days. But most eventually realised the result was a one off, and we've pushed on really well since. So credit where credit is due. The team deserve praise for the last two weeks, same as they deserved the abuse they got three weeks ago. ( some over the top like, but understandable)

I thought this thread was going to be about the mags?
I have a mate who couldn't stop texting me and this obviously continued after the Arsenal game but for the last three games i think he must have lost his phone:)
I sent him a text last night to see if he was still alive and still got no response:lol:
There was also a post on here about how far the mags would be ahead of us after we had played Chelski and yet we are ahead of them and a game in hand.
He who laughs last........

We changed formation. it worked for us. also Gyan has been a revelation, noone expected him to do so well. Probably not even Gyan

The Newcastle game was a freak result, not a true indication of our form up til then. Dreadful result and performance for which they were rightly harangued imho. They haven't half turned it round since like.

And some fans' opinions haven't swung too far either way tbh. I've been saying all year we're a decent, potentially very good team with an outside chance at Europe if everythng goes our way.

It's because we're inconsistent.

We need to see which team is gonna show up most often for the rest of the season.

Dont think you could have two more extreme emotions than the feelings three weeks ago, followed by the news that Bent our only goalscorer out injured for 3 weeks. Then loan behold the performance of our lifetime last week and the amazing contribution of Gyan and wellbeck.

The difference is that we actually have an experienced manager of some talent, who can turn around a situation like that.

Bruce out!

One of the most beautiful malapropisms I've ever read on here (and God knows there've been a few).

As for the matter in hand, the more we talk about that 5-1 defeat the better - it'll keep the players honest. Much better than all the over-blown talk of Europe.

One small step at a time. Everton is always a bloody tough game.
