So in that case it can't be set 200 years before the beginning of GoT - unless it works its way to that point, but then Ned cant be main character.
It "should" be decent either way.

Noooo, the lad who plays young Ned is a lead character in the Tolkien Amazon series.
This Dragon programme is long before the Mad King n all that.

I don't think there would be much point in that as that's pretty much the back story of GoT and we know how it all turns out. This is based on something that was barely mentioned in the TV shows.

The story is finished, as in the TV show that ran over the 8 seasons. There's tons of TV and movie franchises out there that prove that it's completely finished though. There's tons of material in the books that could be used.
