House alarms & the police.

Surely this is a wind up

 Check out all the clever fuckers on this thread that have all owned burglar alarms before and so know what to expect when they go off.

Being from a working class background, my family and neighbours couldn't afford "posh" burglar alarms when I was growing up, so how the fuck would I know whether the police are suppost to respond to them or not?

 FFS if it wasn't for the 15-20 decent people on this board I'd just fuck it off and go somewhere else... give my contribution money to a webmaster that deserved it.

The correct protocol is sitting on your arse for ten minutes refusing to check it out and expecting the police and the army to turn up

Do keep up

My neighbours got broke into a while ago, during the day, broad daylight. I heard the alarm, went into the kitchen and was putting some shoes on just as the bairn came running in saying someone had kicked their front door in. I ran out, barefoot and saw their car speeding off.

Must have been maybe 90 seconds, if that, between them smashing the door in and driving off.

It wouldn’t cross my mind to phone the police on hearing an alarm, I’d look myself.

I’d say the same no matter who started the thread, before Fyl has a whine about me anarl.

Now we're arseholes

You post, I reply. Sometimes I agree with you, sometimes I don't. It's a message board don't get so worked up by it.

I also mention on virtually every thread about how you were actually a canny lad in 'real life'.

You're the one who throws about the abuse like confetti.

Paul mate, do me a favour and read the thread again. You weren't even the one pissing me off at first but you're starting to now.

You too seemed alright in real life but on here recently you seem like you're cropping up more and more amongst the herd of dickheads that follow me around from thread to thread, giving me abuse regardless of the topic.

You're not the worst offender by a long chalk, but whenever there's arseholes giving me grief you seem to turn up and give me a little prod in the ribs and then claim your innocence.

If it's unintentional, I suggest you spend more time choosing your words more carefully in future because it certainly seems to me like you're deliberately trying to provoke a reaction - and so that's why you're getting one.

I'm not joining any 'herd'..

I'd honestly recommend you taking a bit of time off message boards marra, and I'm genuinely not being arsey. You're taking all of this far too seriously.

As it happens I did believe you've been on a wind up recently, some of your threads had seemingly been looking for a reaction, obviously that's not the case.....

I don't know if I'm part of the arsehole herd or not, no matter, it's funny anyway.

Burglar Alarms and Response Etiquette - a study.

By W. R. Kingclass.

Shortly after I moved into my house my alarm went off and half the street came out to check on me.
The bloke 2 doors up even went into the backlane to catch anyone coming over the wall.
It then started to go off all the time. I think the metal box expanded when the sun shined directly on it and set off the tamper alarm. There's 2 alarms go off all the time in the street and nobody bats an eyelid now.
I do go out and check if next door's goes off.

a burglar alarm is a deterent. It is there to alert people.

some alarms are connected to a 24hr manned office, where on the alarm being set off they will telephone a contact no. If it is established there is not lawful entry the security firm contact the police.

For those not connected to the alarm centre, we need to have the goodwill of neighbours. We then have to hope our neighbours will have a look out there window or have a look around the property to ensure everything is ok. any sign of forced entry the neighbour should withdraw and contact the police.

The police cannot go to every alarm that is sounding. Problem being once at a scene they have a duty to ensure that property is safe. Even if you go round a property with a torch, tou cannot ensure no entry has been made. the only way to ensure entry has not been made is to wait for the keyholder to attend the scene and search inside the building.

That could 1 hour or even 2 depending on time of night and where the key holder lives in relation to the premises. if this is a biggish house in a leafy lane you made 6-8 officers to encircle the premises to make sure nobody escapes.

The police have to make rules for the area and ensure their procedures are lawful.

you cannot have a rule for one side of the street and one for another because one is classed as rural and the other urban.

On the same token if anybody witnesses something untoward, say front door open or glass in a window smashed it is entirely justified for 6 - 8 cops to encircle the house to make sure the little bleeders dont escape

The neighbours were probably relieved to hear the droning, interminable noise of the alarm as it drowned out Fyl rehearsing his tunes.

Or they could be annoyed the better tunes than Oasis are being drowned out by said alarm.

This ignore function's really funny on threads like this where all the retards are flocking... post after post after post after post that I can't see without clicking on the "View Post" button.
