Yes abroad. Actually as kids I use to love it, as limited heating, windows cracked (Avoid ice on the inside), and curled up in bed with the water bottle. These days, heating cranked up, to the point I have a fan in my room to cool me down (In my UK house). My lads turn the radiators down and open the window, they like cool rooms for sleeping.

Haven't had one since I was little, but surely the ribbed side is to mitigate against the boiling water inside.

I always put a bit of cold water in the hot water bottle first, before the boiling water. Was always told this is necessary, but is it really? Have I been making slightly colder hot water bottles all my life for no reason?

I've never seen instructions on a hot water bottle like, you sure it's not an urban myth?

Mrs (no) uses hot water bottle and it does say not to fill with boiling water. She does anyway
