Honest opinions of Sinclair ?

Has 3 in 7 apps in the Championship for Boro. Which is a considerable improvement on 1 in 9 apps in League 1 (Sinclair).
This season?
Canny return to be fair
Except he’s actually made 20 appearance for them and scored mighty single goal in the championship.
Brilliant league cup player mind

He’s better than that bellend from the boro we had last season

Too early to call. I think both were young lads who have been highly rated but have had little game time. Fletcher suffered like loads of our players last season but on a few occasions looked quite capable of leading the line and a decent player, whereas Sinclair has had limited game time and nothing apart from hard work really stands out and that's at a level below in a team full of confidence. currently I'd take Fletcher over Sinclair based on what we've seen of both.

I take it you weren’t at Doncaster? His all round play was fantastic down there

It wasn't like. he ran and chased all night and caused them problems, but he's got next to no ball control by the looks of things.

Superb on Tuesday night. Ran the line, held play up and fought for everything. Difficult today when every ball was at his head with a big centre half towering above him. Shouldn’t be questioned for me with Maja in attendance with him.
Agree mate.

Always seems to be a second behind the pace. Desperately need a striker in January to cover maja.
Hopefully have Wyke and Watmore back by then.

This season? Middlesboro haven't even played 20 games this season. Or do you mean overall?

Apparently I was including cup goals erroneously, fair enough. However, if we want to remove cup goals from assessing players, then you've just taken away 2 of Jerome Sinclair's 3 professional goals :)

tbh it's astonishing how little football these lads have played!

He's only played out one full league game for us all season (Doncaster) but has started our last 4 consecutive league wins. He started in the Peterborough game, the game that preceded our four match winning run, and he scored in that game that we drew 2-2. Without wanting to state the obvious, football is a team game. Sinclair is quite clearly part of a team that has steadied the ship. He hardly featured in the rocky start to this season. Make of it what you will ;)

Definitely the unsung hero. Has taken a hell of a strain of Catts and co. Miles better than Fletcher.

Don't see that he's miles better than Fletcher as technically he doesn't looks as good and that's playing in a team full of confidence at a level below. He's works damn hard, chases everything, has a bit of pace and stretches defences as a result and I think that helps the team quite a bit. But so far he hasn't shown he's got anymore in his locker, so people saying his all round game is/was great is stretching the truth.

Don't want to sound as if I'm knocking the lad because he's having a positive impact, but he's got to improve in certain areas.

In the first game he showed that he gives teams a different problem than what we've been able to mostly in trying to get in behind and stretching them, but then was missing for a few weeks. Wouldn't say it was a 'rocky' start, more a rocky start to the second month.

Im prepared to give him time, hopefully he comes good and is an asset to the squad, seem to have a good attitude unlike some of the shite we’ve had over the years

Must admit he's flattered to deceive so far he doesn't seem to have much about him he isn't particularly quick he isn't a goalscorer and his all round contribution isn't great

For someone who was very highly rated at Liverpool I really can't see a top player in him

I also don't think he will make a premier League player
I was right he's f***ing shite

Not going to slag him Off on here not my way but yeh he needs a rest looks way off it has done so for many a game back... no idea why he's gone so bad not just bad but way bad... time for boss to show faith in that young kid not going to try and spell his name.. As to sinclair hopefully a rest will get him back to half a decent player we need all hands at the decks to the last game..

Need a rest? From what...? When was the last time he completed 90 minutes? He’s horrendous. Got no redeeming qualities. “Full of running” is not a quality

I thought that he might come on following his goal - he took it so easily. But he just doesn't look like scoring, for all his honest effort.

Honestly he is shite. I don’t write players off easily but he is being tried, tested and not succeeding at this level.

If you can’t even find the back of the net as a striker at league one level then there is little hope for your career tbh.

He in no way provides a backup or alternative for what Maja offers.

He won't get a game when watmore and Wyke are fully fit

The only thing he seems to offer is hard work and an ability to stretch teams by putting the ball over the top for him to chase, which Maja doesn't offer. Maybe that can work in away games when we're running the clock down, but the problem is that seems to come with no goal threat. It might just suddenly click for him at some point but he just seems a bit bambi on ice when he has a chance or the ball is at his feet, so at the moment that looks unlikely.

We need Wyke and Watmore fit tbh, if either struggle after long term injuries it could present a dilemma in the transfer window with doubts over Maja's future at the moment, who at 19 has probably played more so far than he should have at his age/stage of development.
