Must admit he's flattered to deceive so far he doesn't seem to have much about him he isn't particularly quick he isn't a goalscorer and his all round contribution isn't great

For someone who was very highly rated at Liverpool I really can't see a top player in him

I also don't think he will make a premier League player

I take it you weren’t at Doncaster? His all round play was fantastic down there

He's not great but we're in League One. I'd rather see better players too but this is where we're at rn. He's contributed positively to the last three wins & tbh I thought he was our best player against Shrewsbury. Don't see what more people can expect out of someone who's realistically third pick up front in a third tier side.

He’s a very decent member of the squad and I think over this season he will prove to be a bit of good business for us.

You're right about Flanagan marra, others too. What I find odd is how some people jump to premature, adverse conclusions about certain players then - when proved wrong over time - conveniently erase that from memory without even a "hands up, I was wrong". It's also odd that these premature conclusions are almost invariably negative. You don't often hear, after insufficient time to form a reasoned decision: "He's absolutely brilliant that lad". We see these lads for 90 minutes every now & then, we aren't (most of us) professionals in the sport, yet we still believe we know more about it than the like of Jack Ross, who works with them day in, day out and - to my mind at least - seems like he nars the time of day when it comes to such matters. Yes, we're all entitled to an opinion, but some opinions don't seen very well thought through.
I must admit, It's always been one of my shortfalls marra, Opening my Gob, before engaging brain, but I'd like to think that I give players the benefit of the doubt before making my mind up. As you said, theres not many on here who prematurely rave about a player, and when they do, they always get a barracking, saying that we haven't seen enough to make an opinion, yet. Like you, in Jack I have great faith and theres not many of our managers that I have had that confidence in for quite a while:cool:

No point in lumping the ball up to him, I can count on one finger how many headers he won yesterday

Reminds me a bit of Altidore. Doesn't look like a natural goalscorer but he does a fair bit of donkey work without the credit. Obviously in the prem that would be a problem, but it's good enough for League One. I like him.

He also has the Altidore-esque trait of giving away freekicks without actually fouling the opposition.

He's got a great attitude and a real handful for any defence in this league. He might not score many but his involvement is creating chances for others by pulling defences apart.

Harsh! He’s definitely more of a Danny Graham.
