Hand pull for real ales. What is a beer engine?

Just the name for them. Dunno why!I mean, I know what the picture is, but the term "beer engine"??
Always been interested how hand pulls actually workedJust the name for them. Dunno why!
I've done a bit research and you can rig them up to a pressure barrel with a check valve, it basically just sucks the beer out of the barrel.Always been interested how hand pulls actually worked
Depends what it's stored in I believe, I'm thinking of using a PB or even a corny. With a check valve in place should only lose a tiny amount with the first pint pulled.Doesn't beer spoil after a few days if you use a beer engine? I love the idea of one but always thought it wasn't feasible for homebrew?
That's exactly what I was seeing last night.Brewuk usually aren't the cheapest but they have a massive range of stock. I tend to use the maltmiller now, good range and decent prices.
Just splashed £170 to make 5 batches of Brewdog's Punk IPA v1 for 5 people - canny bargain they're getting - I'm making it for cost price and charging them nowt for my time.
Except half a dozen bottles per batch, of course. Quality control and all that
Dead pony is in the one they publish, I've made it. I'm doing another couple out of diydog in the next few week, hopefully they'll turn out well. You done Brewdog recipes before? If so how did they turn out? Want to make something like their Dead Pony but wasn't in the DIYdog I've got
