Nowt better than getting a delivery in, like a bairn at Christmas.

Aye I was desperate to get home tonight :)

Got a barrel, how do these work, how do I prime etc?

Love daft experiments :)

The ginger wine stuff we made smells lovely, as does the mead :)

500g? I hope that was a 5 gallon fv!

Reet, we'll all be over summertime next year for our home brew party.:)

come over in time for the currant harvest - redcurrants make a delightful rose wine.... also raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries and rhubarb. I'll do a fruit wine masterclass !!!

Been to Galway today via the homebrew shop for more bottles - bottled me Wherry with a bit of help from the bairn (Gotta love half term) and immediately re-sterilised the FV and started another Coopers Bitter (complete with the brewing sugar this time !!!)

they dint have the wine kit I wanted this time.... arse... so gonna do a couple of gallons of fruit juice wine just to keep stocks up.

From experience when making wine from cartons of fruit juice - any opaque juices e.g., orange or pineapple require addition of Pectolase at the start to prevent the wine being cloudy at the finish.

Apple juice makes a nice swiggable everyday white - litre of apple juice, litre of white grape juice, 2lb sugar, water, GP yeast (acids/tannins to suit)

If all the stuff I've ordered arrives before the weekend then some tea wine is definitely going on this weekend.

What was the wine kit you wanted? I've still got 5 gallon to bottle up but just started work again this week so that'll have to wait until Saturday as well. My IPA should be ready to transfer to the PB then so can put another kit on.

fabulous reviews from people who've bought it apparently - comparative to some of the much more expensive kits, so thought it worth a punt for the price. WOuldn't normally use wine kits so it's a foray into the unknown...
