Homebrewing - Part 2

Just bottled my blueberry TC. Was a bit left at the bottom (half a pint), so had a swig and it's delicious. Flung the glass in the fridge to enjoy in a bit. Doubt it'll need too long conditioning.

Bought a couple of beers to taste tonight. Got a bottle of Bitburger that my Dad reckons is lush. Got a Ruby Red to see what my brew should end like. Also got a bottle of weihenstephan cloudy wheat beer in the hope that I actually like wheat beer. It's a hard life typing out ridiculous german beer names.

Thinking about raiding the garage , white wine still in the plastic thing , fruits of the forest cider or some very odd looking lager ....

You dad is a wise man it appears. Was my drink of choose when I lived in Germany. You tried the ruby yet?

good technical description. ;) I'd go for the cider, takes much less time to be palatable.

No I'm drinking the wheat beer first. It's unusual drinking a commercial beer that I can't see through. The taste is really mild yet it's 5.6%, if mine turns out similar I will be happy. Cracking open the ruby next.

Edit: 5.4%

Quality.

It's amazing the change in my tastes since I started this homebrew lark. I used to be a huge fan of newcastle brown. Now I see it as a very run of the mill average pint. I also used to drink more lager than beer but now I only like a couple of lagers and dislike the rest. Might as well give in and grow a beard now

Mental!

I was looking at a rather fetching cardie in greenwoods the other day.

Bottling mine tomorrow night, so will check if its the same.

The shop one was much darker than I expected like!

Cheers mate, I'd hate to think it isn't going to be as tasty as this. I'm not sure what the taste in the background of the ruby red is but I'm hoping to work it out before I empty the bottle.

It's got distinctively malty overtones mind, with a spicy aroma from the styrian goldings hops. Yes I read the label

.

Very nice german lager. Bitte ein bit was the slogan, who says advertising doesn't work!

Had that sticker on me Beemer!

Did you live in Germany long? Spent most of my time in Dortmund whilst behind enemy lines.
