Got my first beer brew on and its nearly finished fermenting. My question is when do I bottle it? Do I wait for it to clear like wine or do I bang it into bottles straight away and prime it?

Its a Wilkos cerveza kit with a bit extra sugar in

You can bottle it as soon as it's finished fermenting. I usually leave it in the FV for about a week after fermenting as the sediment tends to be harder at the bottom so less chance of disturbing it when you bottle. Just the way I do it like.

I got some beer finings when I bought the kit. Would you not use these then?

Will be pleased to get another fv free so I can get the Wherry kit on.

Never used finings so can't comment.

My IPA is bubbling away nicely safely wrapped up in it's sleeping bag. Thought the wine would be ready to bottle but when I was stood watching the IPA bubbles it let out a little burp.

Been to two Sainsburys and two health food shops and none had any corn sugar, so I've found some online and bought twice as much as I need. I think I have all I need to do an all grain batch of bitter plus an extract version too.
I think the point of using corn sugar is that it's not totally fermentable so it sweetens the brew a little, so I may be able to use it for my Tiger lager instead of saccharin tabs. If not I suppose it will just come out a bit stronger and more dry so I can live with that.
Just have to sit and wait for deliveries now.

planning on having a few drinks tonight. Haven't got time to get to the shop between getting home from work and out to a house party, so thinking of taking some of my brews. Not sure they will have been left bottled long enough.
geordie lager and coopers canadian bottled sept 2nd so 6 1/2 weeks. But they have been in the loft which gets pretty cold. Would you take some, or be late and go to the shop?

Bad Dad's working long hours this week so I got bored and have set the Wherry away meself.... no tweak, and made it just under the 23 litres as a "straight" comparison before I start the tweaks.

By my reckoning the Coopers should be about ready now - been in the cold garage about 10 days now after conditioning on the landing for 2 weeks or so...

Also bottled the gooseberry wine (haven't tasted it yet apart from the sly sip when I started the siphon...yeah I know you shouldn't, but...) and the redcurrant & grape so that's another case of wine under the stairs

Just a gallon of raspberry to rack now but it's settling a bit after I disturbed it carrying downstairs.

Very short of white wine here - it's all pink(ish) so am toying with lashing out on a Pinot Grigio kit to make for Christmas. Rumour has it that if you don't rack it and prime the bottle you can get a Prosecco-ish result ??

Never use them unless you like your beer as flat as a witches tit.

Spotted a Pineapple with Coconut juice while i was out shopping, gonna try and make a wine with it.

Mine is very nice after 5-6 months. Better than some stuff I've bought. :) dunno about fizzing it up, but can't see why it wouldn't work. Careful which bottles ya use mind.

I've got a few 750ml swing tops left from the elderflower champagne - or failing that it'll go into the plastic beer bottles

My TC Seems to be coming along nicely still bubbling like mad after 4 days. hopefully be able to bottle it on Monday or Tuesday.

The Californian conneseur and Kenidge get good reviews.

Nee chance I'd have thought. Most of mine have took 4-5 weeks to finish at least.

Thanks for that first batch could have been a let down. I think I have been applying too many wine techniques to the beer brew

I tried a TC with exotic fruit juice that had pineapple in. Ended up cleaning the drains with it.
