I hear plenty of slagging off of Sunderland on here , but I think my pics show theres plenty of nice bits to the city too , I guess if you see them every day you might not notice them. I havent been to Hylton castle btw , thats one for next time , and I need to have a wander round the East End and Sunniside areas too.

I used to go to Sunderland every weekend as a youngun, get the bus right into the old bus station have a rumage in Durham bookshop and Volume gan have some fish and chips in parkers and then go ice skating, fuck all there now apart from chain stores.

The beaches are spot on like and love a look to Roker, but the town is a waste of time.

Sounds like my Saturday's many moons ago apart from the ice skating

I love coming to Sunderland me , Im coming down for the weekend for the Wolves game and staying in the Marriott and can't wait. I brought my old Mam down last summer and it was the first time she had seen Sunderland since she moved away when I was just a baby. We went round the Museum and Winter Gardens , had a walk round Mowbray Park , had a drink and a walk round the shops then went to Seaburn for chips. I would have loved to be able to visit in the 1950s and 60s before all the modern 1970s buildings sprung up and ruined the Town Centre though , looking at the pics in the book 'Sunderland Through Time' with pics taken in the same place recently and back in the day , shows how much Sunderland has lost of its heritage.

it is posts like this that keep me going back to the match and make me love Su.derland, well done mate and I hope we f***ing hammer Wolves for you and ya ma.
