Check tide times and heights. Get to Port Isaac (Portwenn in doc marten) about 2-2 1/2 hours before low water, grab free parking on the beach for a few hours.

Failing that, head towards Port Gaverne rather than the purpose built tourist car park. On the left is another P&D car park. Not as far to walk. I managed it ok and suffer with coronary heart disease.

@cornish mackem Any recommendations for your neck of the world (presuming you live in Cornwall?).

Have 2 kids, a dog, oh and a wife.

I’m on Bodmin Moor
Lots of the beaches don’t allow dogs in the summer but most of the moors are common land so as long as your dog is ok with livestock it can run free. There’s a cracking beach called Constantine, near padstow. Dog friendly and kiddy proof.
Be prepared to sit in traffic in the summer mind.
It does depend what you want

We have rented a house out there. 4 of us flight from brum into Paris and out.
Flights £650 return each. And House is the same although we are only 4 when it actually sleeps 8
