History of the smb

Bleep / Blep was the daddy of all posters like
Yeah in my 20 years on here there hasn't been a better poster. The randomness of their posts and how funny there usually were... loved plodging and to still be doing it at 47 was awesome.
I moved to the US at the end of 2001 and this little forum became a vital link to the ongoings back home.

these days I spend more time reading that actually posting.... but love it as much today as I ever did.

Christ we’ve lost some good ones over the years, you can just reel them off. Such a shame.

There was a forum member on here who unfortunately passed away early 2000’s. I can’t remember his name and he’s not on the Gold board.
Anyway, in his profile he said his occupation was a miner. This was in the days long before smartphones were a thing so everyone sat in front of their computer to type messages so his occupation was there for everyone to see.
The reason I mention this is because he may have started off down the pits but he didn’t end up there. Apparently he got himself some sort of engineering degree and ended up moving to the US where he raised a family and had grandchildren and did really well for himself.
When he passed away another forum member, probably long gone off here, posted his passing and gave a bit of history about his background and how he never lost his affection for SAFC or forgot where he came from. It was a bit of a melancholy read at the time.
It would be nice if anyone off here remembers who I’m talking about and could post it in this or Gold forum.

A few of us were on newsgroups in 1996 before I found the FTM Exec and then SMB and have been on ever since with a change of username due to an email issue in 2005

Harry must have his own boy by now

Was it Tony by any chance? It was a short name like that. From Virginia I think

The massive dry sandwich & Scotch egg( his wife clearly hated him), one of the MS paint ones (forget which), a 3D Moose head (was quite cute iirc) and Greedminds uploading a pic of his c*ck in a miniature Kellogs's Frosties box ( it didn't fill it)
