Sunderland AFC whilst playing at Horatio Street, our 3rd home. It shows Sunderland in their original all blue strip.
Sunderland AFC of course started life at Hendon, playing at The Blue House Field.

Sunderland[/FONT] team and officials pose before the 1 January 1886 match against Scottish side Port Glasgow, a 1 v 2 defeat. The strip had now evolved into red and white halves from the previous all blue kit.

Great stuff MBH as always and my only comment would be that Innes in the 1894/95 pic should think himself very lucky that the FA tests for performance enhancing (or mind bending) drugs, did not come in till a few seasons later!!

PS - Don't mess with McMillan.

My old mans allotment is on Sunderlands old pitch near the Blue House, he growing potatoes near the half way line \o/
 
Cracking pics, i always love old pics like that some people look like there from that era then others look like someones photo shopped peoples heads from now a day.

I quite like the thought of reverting to red and white halves. Would look good today and we wouldn't be the same as Stoke, Sheffield U and Southampton.

Ha, I was thinking the same. It would be a lot more distinctive. Then again, I'm one of the weirdos who like the 1982 kit. :lol:
