Highway Code to promote 'Dutch reach' to protect cyclists

Also being mooted that cyclists will get priority over cars at junctions.

Interesting to see that pedestrian fatalities rose 5% in 2017. As both a cyclist and a driver that's easy to see why - idiots walking straight out gawping at their phones or oblivious to the outside world because of headphones, or of course the presumption that bicycle or car has a stopping distance of zero.

Some dont deserve protection. I was sat at traffic lights on red last night. Cyclist came bombing down between 2 lines of traffic and straight through the red light whilst it was green for pedestrians. Circumnavigated the pedestrians and at that point noticed he was carrying a child on the back in one of those carrier seats. F****ng ar5ehole would be the first to complain if someone else went through a red and nearly hit him

'Cos motorists never run red lights, like.

It’s a free for all in city centres alright : pedestrians, cyclists, cars. only exception in Manchester is the tram which is not to be messed with.

Surprised there’s not more accidents, need more dedicated cycle lanes o reckon

Odd seeing the ocassional scaly cyclists holding on to the back of a tram :D
