High fat, low carb diet

Decided to stick to this diet at the beginning of May and it is really working for me, was wondering if there are any other users of this diet?

Most of my meals are fatty meats and green vegetables with dairy fats added in.

The benefits I've found are:
• No brain fog, minutes after waking my brain is in good function and lasts all day.
• Clear thinking.
• Body clock wakes early (around 6AM) and very easy to get up.
• More energy.
• Instinctively make more positive decisions and seemingly more prone to seeing the good in any situation.
• Beard is growing in faster (not sure if that's a benefit).

I've tried a few different diets, mostly for health or vitality reasons but this seems to be the best one I've tried so far.

I'd guess the benefits listed are more to do with the fat loss and improved micronutrient and fatty acid intake, rather than the specific approach.

I don't really like the approach but plenty people find it a good way to maintain a calorie deficit

Yes mate me, I’m on keto, been on it since Monday so going through bad 2 weeks now.

Done it before and lost a lot of weight, reason I’m back on it is not just for weight loss but the fact when I don’t eat carbs I don’t have the need to take medication every day, I don’t wake up choking in the middle of the night no more fearing that the end is happening.

My bad knees are easing more and more each day.

Loving it

How much weight you lost so far mate?

If you're boiling the root vegetables that is fine but if you are roasting them they caramelise which makes them higher in carbs.

I'm doing both depending on the food in question, I don't mind having a small amount of carbs, have a feeling it's the bread and pasta that my body doesn't like.

Great news for you mate.

I've only lost a few pounds but I'm around 11 stone anyway so I don't want to lose much weight. I'm trying this because I read the fats can have benefits for mental function and that has been the case for me.

Eat a lot less
Eat a lot better
Get moving

For pure weight loss it doesn’t matter if eating worse or better ( health wise a different matter of course) as long as you take in less calories than “burning off”

Every pound of fat takes approx 3500 calories. A 500 calorie deficit every day for a week would give the pound weight loss. As you say consuming 3500 less calories a week is eating a lot less

People always looking for a magic fix when it’s fairly simple( albeit not always easy to do)
