Hetty feather on bbc kids

Reet I am outraged.

On CBBC there is an adaption of a Jacqueline Wilson kid’s book set in Victorian England.

I have counted 3 black servants, a kid in a wheelchair and a lesbian ginger bird.

FFS why can’t people accept that society was not like that even though it may be now. How are kids going to learn about history?

How do you know she’s a lesbian?

Im presuming that they can’t discriminate when hiring for the roles in that they can’t say someone must be white. Unsure if it works both ways with roles where you would expect the character to be black or Asian like.
