Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

How does that bring shame on the club or fellow supporters? People are responsible for their own actions and any shame is theirs.

You're asking the wrong people here mate. Send an email to the dyke who wrote the article...

And what the hell has it got to do with the SAFC head of H&S.

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

I know a lad who got arrested then the police wouldnt let him use the bog at the station so he pissed his pants... then got done for that..

I think they mean the whole carriage singing "why why why Delilah" vvv
* Shouting obscenities in front of travelling families.

And also it was my thread about the police being heavy handed, someone care to dig it out?

Fair enough. My comment wasnt on the article - I haven't read it but about the behaviour of "fans" generally. Sure, I've had a few beers, had quite a few discussions with stewards, but like you know the limits. These guys that think it's OK are badly brought up. Maybe the younger ones know no better, but the older ones have no-one to blame but themselves. There is plenty of help out there - anger management courses, drink aware courses (this is especially for those who get aggressive after drinking, but also for those for whom the distinction between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour is blurred after a drink), and behavioural therapy courses. Of course all of the above would be for a large part factored into a proper upbringing, which, I'm afraid some of the main lads on this board seem not to have had. Hence the problems.

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

The police arrest people for pissing in doorways, yes. They would also arrest people for public indecency too. And these people would deserve to be arrested. The police adopt their policy around the behaviour of the lowest common denominator.

So I'm not really sure what you're getting at.

You stated that if football fans wanted to be treat properly by the police they should start acting properly first. I don't do anything wrong at football matches yet at times have been treat like shit by over zealous heavy handed police forces because of a couple of idiots acting up. I wouldn't get treat like that if i went into town drinking because of how some of the ***** behave on a weekend. So why should i get treat differently at football matches?

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

Usual story.

A bunch of people act like f***ing knackers.

The press say it's the worst thing ever, simply cos they're football fans.

The SMB say they did nothing wrong, simply cos they're football fans.

I will leave you with a radical thought. Perhaps the police might start treating football fans like normal people when a minority of football fans stop acting like this.

Exfuckingsactly.

Yep, because you're a football supporter....

We get worse press and have more restrictions than a sex offender.

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

Yawn.

A couple fans act like twats so it brings shame on the whole of SAFC's support.

Or alternatively it could just be viewed as a couple of idiots.

Most people hate muslims because of the way a minority act
same with benefit claimants
same with coppers
same with gypsys

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

and what do you reckon the chances are of that being the case?

I have no idea, none of have any idea.

tbh I'm more commenting on the people who are trying to excuse or condone this behaviour as it happened within the context of football support.

If I was sober on the train with children and some bloke threatened me and flashed his cock, I'd think poorly of the people he was ostensibly representing.

These grown men don't stand for Sunderland supports, but they don't deserve to be defended by Sunderland supporters either.

You shouldn't, but you do because of berks like this.

Similarly, if you went out wearing a leotard, and other people wearing leotards when out drinking acted like fuckwits, then people may leap to the conclusion that you are a fuckwit.

The police and press shouldn't tar all football fans with the same brush. However, defending this type of behaviour just perpetuates the notion that it's OK to act like a radgy charver providing you're on your way to or from a football match.

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

If the article is correct, these men were acting in a threatening manner and committed public incessancy. Why should the public have to put up with that just cos 'they were at the football'?

Can I get my cock out in front of young families providing that I'm on my way to the cinema at the time?

Were did it say threatening manner? No where

Where did it say young families? could of been a coach full of blokes.

Where did it say what was exposed? It didnt always thinking the worst.

Urinating in public at Darlington station - were all the toilets in use on the train ? - because if it was grand central I know they have had as many as 2 faulty toilets on my commute to london.

* Assaulting a female train guard - running to catch train and guard steps in front to stop you and say you have missed it- how do you stop at full flow?

Done this a few times off night shift half asleep running round the corner, thats one of the reasons they have gates now to stop passenger congestion on platforms.

away from football -

Lad gets done exposing himself to children on train- you want to kill him straight away right?

In report this bloke PE teacher, rugby club stag party in a borat mankini that was cut with pen knife, then he was pushed by 3 blokes ( over 50st total ) into next train car for 5 seconds where some unlucky family with young's were.

Train guard report, police came on at next stop and talk of this stupid charge.

Lucky for him 4 of the group were coppers + other uniformed lads and within 2 mins it was ok lads warning no more funny stuff off the coppers went.

If this had been football lot, lad prob would of lost job and made headlines in a crap newspaper.

Bottom line is no one knows the full facts.

And if you take every thing the echo says as gospel then you have probs.

I guess theres no news going on in Sunderland today so we will highlight those 5 people out of 3,000.

The way its reported just leads you to think the worst of our fans - it stinks

Boycoutt! the echo ;) ;) ;)

What's somebody having an opinion on a sensationalist front-page article have to do with upbringing?

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

don't know why people are getting defensive about the article. Whether its 5 fans or 500 its still unpleasant behaviour. Sick of Sunderland's ape element embarrassing us on our travels. Why is it acceptable to be loud and loutish on a train - show some respect to fellow passengers.

What's somebody having an opinion on a sensationalist front-page article have to do with upbringing?

how is sensationalist when it's the truth?

Were did it say ....

In the article.

The Echo might be talking shite, I dunno. What I do know is that people are defending these actions assuming them to be true, and people always do that type of thing.

I agree that the Echo is a rag though, and that this seems to be a turgid bit of sensationalising.

Im not defending them. Say for eg. some lads who you are not with are in a pub and are singing. You are standing at the bar with a couple of others well away from these people. The police come in, walk over to you and make it clear that you won't be getting in the next bar/club. Then when you move on to the next pub you are arrested for being drunk. Kept in the cells till 1am then let out without charge. It just wouldn't happen would it. So why should it happen prior to a football match?

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

Just read this in the paper and its total utter headline attention seeking crap.

I would suggest folk mail the author as I have just have and asked her to come on here and defend this non story...

The Echo is quick to take stuff from here ( their now departed digital editor lee Hall lived on here) but I bet they dont come back and try to defend this crap................

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

I haven't read all the thread, but, from the initial post it seems like 8 people were arrested.I am almost sure that if you put 3000 people at an event anywhere, you might get 8 who behaved badly.Doesn't seem like a big deal to me,it's always going to happen, the vast majority of our travelling support have the ability to use their brain.

Re: Here we go again..... Sunderland fans bring shame on their club and fellow suppor

jack, nothing.....but that wasn't the point of the post.
