Re: Golden boy Jordan

You need to give your head a shake coming on here publishing shit about bottling challenges.

Just have a look at the team statistics as a whole and make your own mind up. i think you are taking the opinion of far too many drunk part time supporters.

Henderson has a very solid all round game to him. I believe he is a lot more showy and creative on the RW. A position he may prove to be best on. But at this time the man with most football knowledge and experience wants to play him in CM where he can improve ALL aspects of his game.

I have a twenty year history of attending games as well as a background in sport and coaching. I can understand the subtleties of the game like a pass made which leads to a good passage of play 5 or 6 passes later. These unflashy things are what impress me the most.

I think a good example of this is Alonso at Liverpool. He was never fully appreciated for the subtly brilliant things he did when he was there. But once he was gone Liverpool fell apart.

I also have a 20 year attending history, a sporting and coaching background. And that line about Alonso is bullshit. They loved him in Liverpool. What a very condescending person you are coming on here all high and mighty with your stats and coaching and attending background. Who on earth do you think you are!?

Re: Golden boy Jordan

Hahahahahaha reeet mate her we go.

Lets prove your a fuck knuckle once and for all with pure logic and fact (something you're probably not well acquainted with but just go with it)

Henderson, who does not tackle, has actually attempted 49 tackles this season with a 75% success rate. Catts and steed have attempted slightly more but have only a 61% and 64% success rate.

Now where you really come apart though is the fact he has made 63 interceptions of the ball. More than any other member of the squad.

SO TO RE-ITERATE, Jordan henderson wins the ball back more often than any other player on the pitch

I await your reply with excitement.

Don't know where you get 49 from like. Granted when we played 5 in midfield early season he may have hussled the ball off players.

What you failed to consider is Jordans played everygame. Steed hasnt and Cattemole (unfortunetly) certainly hasn't.

Its not really mate if you actually had a thought in your f***ing head

John Terry has made 41

Terry has been fucked most of the season! And let's face it, defenders tend to header the ball. Most of the battles are won and lost in midfield.

49 tackles??? He's played about 30 games. That's less than 2 tackles a game

BTW, you're clueless. Henderson has been way below average for months now.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

Here is another reply - kind of backs up my "more weaknesses than strengths" argument (seeing as though stats can be used in any way that one wants to use them)

Jordan Henderson is NOT in the top 50 players list for:

tackles
goals
assists
fouls won
fouls conceded
shots on target
total shots

However, Jordan Henderson is in the top 50 for:

key passes
total passes
successful passes

He has also been an ever present. This stat could be used to argue that thats why he appears in the top 50 of most passes, key passes and successful passes. However, it can also be used to condemn the fact that he hasnt had more shots, made more tackles, scored more goals and contributed with more assists.

(Source, Daily Telegraph online - Premier League Statistics)

He is in top 50 assists (he has three which is joint 40th)

I dont think id want him in top 50 fouls conceded!!!!!

ALSO look at his chances created and he is double that of anyone on the team at 60 odd.

So maybe, just maybe you are missing something in his game.

Disclaimer: I don't deny he needs to improve his shooting and crossing but I think that comes with confidence. Confidence doesn't come from idiots shouting you down.

So, just to clarify - Henderson doesn't score goals, doesn't create goals and doesn't tackle, but he "gets about the pitch".

Top prospect, if you're looking for a middle-distance runner.

3 assists you say? f***ing hell fire! No wonder the lad's worth £20m

So for every 30 starts in the business area of the pitch he makes three goals and scores one?!?!

Just as well he puts his foot in then as he's no use going forward, oh wait......

he takes set pieces, surely this would improve the number of chances he creates?

The lad is a decent prospect, but for the last 3/4 months has been very poor and should have been dropped a long time ago. How many more poor displays does he have to put in before he finally gets dropped?

I'm a supporter. i think you should try it sometime.

You may be all of the above, but may I respectfully suggest you head to an opticians on Monday as your sight has deteriorated a lot this season.
And you're a twat

Has his long overdue rest gone up the spout as a result of the latest injuries?

Hope not, the lad is blowing out of his arse at the minute, has been for weeks.

If ever anyone needed to be taken out of the firing line for a bit it's now...
He wont fulfil his potential at Sunderland. It looks to me as though we appear to think he is the finished article and he gets no more meaningful coaching here.

His best bet is to move before he ends up mediocre and all his talent evaporates.

He gets worse by the game.

Today was not a poor display by any standard.

You're comparing Alonso to Henderson? He was adored at Liverpool man!

Oh and you may have a coaching badge you sent away for by filling in your name and address in a shoot magazine but I'll bet you were a shite footballer.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

The logic presumably being that unless you subscribe to the "myth" that is Jordan Henderson you don't support SAFC?

Fuck. Off.

If you don't support the team you aren't a supporter. If you pick on one specific player and kill his confidence you are a fuckwit.

Fuck.........REET OFF

not in the Telegraph. See the problem in using stats when judging a footballer? I thought we would have realised not to do this after Riveros in the World Cup. Stats are very vague.

I dont think many people shout him down either. He doesnt come close to Kilbane, Oster, Whitehead, Murphy or even Richardson for this.

Look, you can dress it up as you like.

The boy has talent and potential. He is not fulfilling it in central midfield. He would be best suited to sitting out wide and occasionally sticking a decent ball in the box and leave the key part of the game (the midfield contest) to men with the heart to do it. Thats not a criticism its just how it is (e.g. Adam Johnson is a very good wide player but wouldnt have the heart, sense of responsibility to deliver as a central midfielder).

I await the stat that shows he is the 33rd most successful farter outside the top 8 teams to back up your flawed theory

Tell you what he'd be best of doing - moving to a club that can develop him further and doesnt consider him to be the finished article.

I support the team, if I didn't Henderson's lack of any meaningful contribution wouldn't bother me.
