For me, what he was good at, at the start of the season, he's now lost the confidence to do. Nutmegging players and putting in decent crosses and attempting defence splitting passes.

Now all he seems to want to do is the easy option. Sideways, backwards, floaty balls to Bardsley.

I think he's been best on the wing.

I also think he's suffered by not having a 'sitting' midfield player alongside him with Cattermole having been absent for long periods of the season.

Thats the biggest frustration. Its obvious to all that he has potential to be very good. Has good vision, quick feet, good engine and a good right peg but it is being cancelled out by his lack of heart, lack of ambition with the ball and doesn't seem to have a great desire to drive the team on.

As a central midfielder he is nowhere near as good as Cattermole was at his age.

I personally just think he needs to grow a pair.

No doubt Ill be slated for having this opinion

Not by me.
Especially the 'heart' bit.

Maybe we should just hoy him out on the wing.

No doubt Ashbrooke Lad will come on and accuse you of being on a 'witch hunt' against him, whatever the hell that means.

Spot on, he was playing wide right too. It's a shame we've been crippled by injuries in CM so he's been forced into covering there, he's too lightweight and looks lost.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

could have posted this on the thread already there.

He aint shite, he has potential that he is unlikely to realise. Like so many before him at this club

saw the other thread. people saying that he needs a rest, he's had two weeks off so that argument is a non starter.

as for your point, he may well have potential, but we might as well have been playing with 10 men many a game this season. I'd prefer someone in their who will give us more points on the board

Re: Golden boy Jordan

To say he's no better than Dean Whitehead is unbelievable.

haha ok maybe thats the beer talking. Offering very very very little though, why is he still getting a game? should have been dropped months ago

Re: Golden boy Jordan

He isn't a centre midfielder, and should be on the right. I don't like the way he bottles 50/50s. However, he is streets ahead of Whitehead, and is just a kid.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

He's out of form and he's not playing well, but that's a dreadful bollocks of an opening post.

He is a decent young prospect as a right winger. He's a little boy lost in the centre of the park. His second half "tackle" in the middle of the park today was nothing short of an embarrassment to be honest. Like a soft John Oster.

He contributes absolutely zero in the centre of the park.

Is he a holding central midfielder? No
Does he create anything from central midfield? No
Does he score goals from central midfield? No
Can he tackle? No
Can he cross a ball in open play from the right hand side touchline? no

*David Brent finger clutch and lip bite*

Said similar today. If a new comer had to pick the sunderland supporter between Cattemole and Henderson it'd be an easy decision, and the wrong one.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

Sometimes you just have to be thankful that this board only represents a small minority of our support.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

Why cant he find his form again in the reserves like footballers did in the olden days?

He has struggled for most of this season and Bruce hasnt helped the lad by leaving him in the firing line when he's obviously well below his best. I still think he's got great potential however.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

The original post is spot on - he's probably the most over-rated player I've seen at Sunderland and gets away with it purely because he's local.

He doesn't score goals, he doesn't create goals and he never makes a tackle. He's very much a poor man's Dean Whitehead.

Re: Golden boy Jordan

Jesus...give the kid a break. Yeah he's having a bit of a dip at the moment, but a few months ago he was arguably one of our better players. Maybe he should fuck off to Man U, get away from here and let them benefit from the brightest prospect to come through our Academy.
