What is his best position? I thought last season when he played further out to the right he was much better. Sometimes he looks as if he doesn't want to get stuck in.

Put himself about and did alright tonight, Was blowing out of his arse after the hour mark. The Lad needs a rest.

Shit was an understatement!!

mate, you have been spoilt, think of our centre midfield players over the last five years. He wasnt shit, he and our midfield were overun by better tactics and performances on the night. We battled for a draw. He does need a rest like or maybe even put out wide for a bit as people underestimate the importance of a good delivery that he can put in.

On the other side of the coin I thought Cattermole had a canny game like

his first touch was woeful last night, 4 out of 5 times he gave the ball away

I agree about Cattermole, thought he was canny, grafted well and put in some canny tackles

Aye, Henderson passes sideways or backwards - like Whitehead. Henderson doesn't score goals, like Whitehead, Henderson bottles tackles...like Whitehead.

I never in all my time watching sunderland saw Whitehead knock a 40 yard pass out to a wide man straight to feet. Whereas Henderson seems to be able to do it no bother, he is also very good at the first time pass, not just five yards but on the run and a moving ball he can control his pass to find another safc player, something which Whitehead never done for us, he needed a couple of touches before passing

Henderson is a decent player and yes he has some good attributes but the way some people go on on here you'd think he was Xavi or someone of that class. He's miles off being a top player...like Whitehead ;)

He is defo miles away from being a top player but for a young lad to hold down a place in a decent prem side that have only lost twice this season he is certainly no mug.

You cant blame folk for getting excited about him, local lad, down to earth and getting some recognition and even an england call up. its the modern era and media hype just happens. IMO he has the right manager to nurture and bring him on and some people are relying on him too much although Fabregas was Arsenal captain at 20 I think so you either have it or you dont. One thing is for sure, he will be a very decent player in two years time whether it be for us or not.

His main strength IMO.

he needs to do his stuff on the flank, not at centre mid. we don't need to headless chickens in centre mid....someone with a bit of composure would be nice.
