Heavy Rock/ Heavy Metal / Classic Rock / Southern Rock - Top Ten albums

When I was a a lad it was all classed as heavy rock / metal ...... my taste is a bit varied so thrown in some Black Crowes which is more Southern than any of the above. I never really got into thrash etc.

As a teenager I was always more into punk, new wave, mod, ska, indie / alternative than the hairy hippies (apart from Motörhead and Led Zep - I loved both of these from a very young age) but I got more into "rock" music as I progressed into my late teens early twenties.

My list is pretty dull with no real surprises but would be interested in seeing others lists that may inspire me to listen to different artists.

My list is a "one album per artist" and request the same from others to get a broader spectrum of artists:

Anyhow, here goes:

1) Guns and Roses - Appetite for Destruction

2) The Black Crowes - The Southern
Harmony and Musical Companion

3) Motörhead - Ace of Spades

4) AC/DC - Back in Black

5) The Answer - Everyday Demons

6) Black Sabbath - Paranoid

7) Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

8) Free - Fire and Water

9) Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden

10) Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell

The southern harmony and musical companion is still one of me all time faves. Absolutely cracking album

The bass playing on 'and out comes the wolves' is class.

Not sure what I'd call them but Qotsa and Perfect circle don't fit in the brief for me .
