All time great film. Cafe scene, pure genius.



I think the point was that he just walked away from her.....or am I reading it wrong?

It’s a bit of both. He does walk away from her right at the very end but he has a confused, haunted look as though he realises he’s trying to stick to his philosophy but he’s actually fallen in love with her so the walking away seems a mistake because he knows without her he’s walking into nothingness.

The big shootout scene obviously uses body doubles for De Niro and Val Kilmer for parts of it. People trained in advanced firearms and tactics.

It annoys me that I don’t really like Heat.

I thought LA Takedown was canny so I got excited when I heard they were essentially re doing it with De Niro and Pacino whose films I generally like.

But it left me pretty cold and a bit bored.

Interesting.

Wish they’d got him in on Miami Vice. The big finale shootout in that fillum is a ridiculous muddled mess and a huge disappointment coming from Michael Mann.
