Doncaster Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll has revealed that he hopes to have striker David Healy return to the Keepmoat Stadium, after the Northern Irish international returned to parent club Sunderland following his loan expiring.

The forward made eight appearances for Doncaster Rovers, scoring twice during his two-month spell on loan from the Premier League side.

"He's gone back to Sunderland, but we'd like to keep him," said Sean ahead of Rovers clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"We've had a chat with David and he is obviously out of contract at Sunderland come the end of the season. The window perhaps gives him an opportunity to get a long-term contract somewhere. First of all, he needs to talk to Sunderland to see what they are prepared to do with him; do they want a fee, do they want to let him go - this, that and the other."

Id keep him till the end of the window and keep him on the bench. Dont fancy going into games with no strikers on the bench.

Rather stick with someone like Cook, no idea if he'll make it or not but Healy has proved he's not a top level player.
