Having to play a full back centre forward

It really is piss poor.

It was poor to be leaving August with 2 proper strikers. It’s genuinely shambolic to leave January with 1, who got injured 2/3 days before the window closed

And we have. The second defeat possibly in 12 games, five won

For fucks sake . We have a good defence and the most creative midfiellds in the division we should easily make the play offs.
The reason we wont is because we havent got any forwards.

Oops their centre forward ( whats one of them) has just scored.

Not sure why 2 years comes into it. We went up.

We need a striker now. A one who we didn't sign two years ago might not have been suitable for top end champo.

January of this year was the only time we've been mega desperate, and there's been no suitable suggestions put forward.
We went uop yes but we got away with a strategy which was clearly wrong then (as i may have said once of twice). We've been desperate for OUR OWN strikers for 4 windows. We cleared the decks of those not up to the task and didn't replace them. If we'd done the same in any other area of the pitch it'd be the same but in the most important area its costing us more.

As far as suitable suggestions that's for the recruitment team who are hailed on here to sort. Plenty around to chose from.

You can’t make apologies for Speakman praised has been heaped on the guy. But christ we have signed one permanent centre forward in Stewart. It’s embarrassing and utterly pointless playing Gelhardt up front it’s clear as day he’s not an out and our centre forward.

This season is pretty much over due to the lack of a recruiting a centre forward in January. The club gambled purely on getting Simms back on loan.

If you accept praise you have to take justified and deserved criticism.

We got lucky with Stewart last season, he played pretty much every minute
Very true. Some were calling for strikers to be brought in every window since the "takeover" and its yet to happen. RS was always going to get an injury and we've set ourselves up to fail. Be interesting to see how the club spin this come season ticket renewal time.

Having a minimum of 3 strikers is a non negotiable for a professional football squad.

2 is extremely poor and taking a huge risk. You are 1 striker injury away from not having anyone to bring off the bench. Don't have options to change things, different threats.

1 striker is gross negligence.

"But Chris Martin wouldn't have been good."

it didn't have to be Chris Martin. They wasted several months, could have identified a suitable player. This is the championship, the bar is not so high that not many players in Europe would improve us.

I understand the concern of not bringing one in but we did have a striker on the pitch today, just he isnt to the level of Stewart and in no way would we have found better than Geldhart in january.
