Striker
I do think Gelhardt will settle and do well but we should have planned for three in the summer never mind January

ThisGelhardt was lined up to come in & supplement RS, he was never a replacement, as soon as RS got injured a replacement should have been the priority.
Does he ?But he won't... because he isn't a striker. He's a good player but is a number 10.
Incredible so many people can't see jow it's affecting the team.
Why does Mowbray keep doing it then?
He said yesterday we are a few strikers away from becoming a good team.Does he ?
Ross Stuart got injured on Saturday afternoon and the window shut when, Tuesday night? They've already made it public they tried several avenues to get someone in but unfortunately couldn't get a deal over the line, you'd think they deliberately twiddled their thumbs through to sunset.Gelhardt was lined up to come in & supplement RS, he was never a replacement, as soon as RS got injured a replacement should have been the priority.
You best tell TM then as he mentioned it after the game as wellBut you can only change a game with the players we've currently got on the books...
1 out and out striker was never enough mind even before Stewarts injury. Gelhardt simply isn't a striker.Ross Stuart got injured on Saturday afternoon and the window shut when, Tuesday night? So iif we go on a bad run is he going to get a pass for the rest of the season because Stewart isn't available or will he be judged on his results with the squad he's got now ?He said yesterday we are a few strikers away from becoming a good team.
And words to the affect of if we had stewart or somebody in the box we would have won the game.
See my other post..You best tell TM then as he mentioned it after the game as well
Well Done - you’re very cleverWhen all the happy clapoers were cheering beating an awful QPR side I predicted this would happen.
4 weeks earlier than that, when the window first opened, we had 1 fit centre forward at the club, who had just come back from a long term injury. It’s incompetence from the club that they didn’t get backup in. We have cover for every other position in the team.Ross Stuart got injured on Saturday afternoon and the window shut when, Tuesday night? A replacement should have been the priority prior to him getting injured given how crucial he is to us.Gelhardt was lined up to come in & supplement RS, he was never a replacement, as soon as RS got injured a replacement should have been the priority.
I'll certainly give him a near free pass when get had 3 months with no striker and then another half a season without one.So iif we go on a bad run is he going to get a pass for the rest of the season because Stewart isn't available or will he be judged on his results with the squad he's got now ?
I am watching a really talented team struggling to break down an organised defence because we did not sign an experienced striker and having to play a full back as a make shift striker.
I said it at the time and every week since and does not matter how this game finishes it was beyond ridiculous not signing a striker and will cost us promotion.
Negligence not incompetence for me!4 weeks earlier than that, when the window first opened, we had 1 fit centre forward at the club, who had just come back from a long term injury. It’s incompetence from the club that they didn’t get backup in. We have cover for every other position in the team.
Do you not start to bore yourself with the same old posts every time we lose?We went uop yes but we got away with a strategy which was clearly wrong then (as i may have said once of twice). We've been desperate for OUR OWN strikers for 4 windows. We cleared the decks of those not up to the task and didn't replace them. If we'd done the same in any other area of the pitch it'd be the same but in the most important area its costing us more.
As far as suitable suggestions that's for the recruitment team who are hailed on here to sort. Plenty around to chose from.

Oops You've forgotten again, we did get backup in, remember that loan striker you forgot about upthread4 weeks earlier than that, when the window first opened, we had 1 fit centre forward at the club, who had just come back from a long term injury.
