Has to be one of the most underrated batsmen ever.

Fastest to 5000 ODI runs beating Kohli and Viv Richards record of 114 innings. He managed it in 101.

Another ton today 18 in 102 innings averaging 54.53(currently as 114* against the windies)

And his test record is also marvellous in the top 25 fastest to 5000 runs and top 20 for 6000(only gibbs quicker for SA to 5k and only smith faster to 6k) with 23 tons in 82 test averaging 52.78

Yet he seemingly gets overshadowed by De Villiers as the latter is more explosive. Also doesn't get the plaudits that Smith received too.

excellent performance again. will be the major obstacle, with de villiers, come england playing there next winter.

i will go for 407 at the end. this fastest ton is definitely on. another 6 but i await the mikey explosion at this dross windies bowling.

by the way, is this the ground where s africa beat aus in that record odi match a few years back?

8 needed for his ton. largely forgotten but amla is on 138. could he bypass him. 2 needed now. this over surely. its there with a six.

31 ball ton world record. shame the thread is entitled amla :lol:
 
i said 407 but think they might beat that.

after mikeys slamming of gayle the other day, will he come out swinging again? :lol:

way past the 407. amlas 152 at the tavare pace of 138 balls. :lol:
