Surely for it to be actually democratic first there needs to be a process where people who are actually interested in being the rep put their names forward and then we have a voting thread to decide?

Agree with this, so I would assume red and white army would approach here, with names of people who have put themselves forward, then a sticky thread with a vote attached?
