Has graham talked about his comments

I don't think it was that bad rather tongue in cheek to question asked by a newcastle fanzine

I don't see the problem

I can only assume you've never, ever gone anywhere you didn't want to go to keep your missus quiet. We won't know until he's been here a while.

He's here - there's nothing anyone can do about it now. I think it's a potentially huge mistake, but if he can do the business off the pitch and keep his gob shut and his behaviour sensible off it, he'll be treated as I find.

 This move is directly comparable to an afternoon at the metrocentre?

I really hope he doesn't say sorry, because he will just look spineless and like he is trying to crawl to the fans. I'd much rather he says something along the lines of 'Yeah, I'm a Newcastle fan and it was just a bit banter, but now I am a Sunderland player, I am only focused on giving my full effort here'.

This sums it up and should have been the end of thread.

Well put response pal.

Do you remember Bent saying how he was staying here in the long run, and would become a legend?

And have you noticed nearly every player we sign the same interview comments are normally "Safc are a massive club, MON is a great manager."

I swear to god these player interviews are scripted.

Everyone has finally cottoned onto the fact that you're a Mag, just fuck off to one of your own forums man.

Just read through this thread after seeing your reply in the preview on forum runner. It actually took me until your quote to know which one you meant, there's at least 3 pretend safc fans in here

Good reply though!

That he made about us? Thought he might have come out and said sorry or the like.

Stop being so bloody precious man and get behind the lad on the pitch. Never heard of banter? My mag mates say stuff like he said to me all the time and I give as good back. We still get on and go out together though and we don't sulk and ask each other for an 'apology'.

This is a good backstory, fascinating read.

Of course not. Let's go to a ridiculous extreme for a cheap laugh though.

You asked why else he would sign. I gave you an answer. Wanting to be here would be nice, but it's in no way a certainty that this is the case.

Plenty footballers move because they're told they have to by their other half. Nothing new there.

It's up to him to prove his heart's in it, starting tomorrow.

Why might "he have come out and said sorry" ?

Jesus. I know exactly what you posted and exactly what you meant, you just don't have the strength of your convictions to admit it.

So just for clarity, because I asked if he had said sorry or made any reference to the alleged comments attributed to him in a fanzine, not that he should apologise (I don't think he should btw) I now lack the strength of my convictions?

I think it might be 'courage of my convictions' also but I'm not too sure ;)

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest he moved for that reason man. You keep sayin am lookin for laughs, all i do is highlight your ridiculous posts. You provide the hilarity.

What evidence is there to suggest his wife made him move up here? That's if he even has a wife mind cos i wouldn't know tbh.

at the end of the day graham said nothing that another fan of either sunderland or newcastle would say about their rivals when asked who he would SUPPORT not PLAY FOR, if their team ceased to exist.

as a professional footballer, he would take the right opportunity for his career, which he has done by coming to Sunderland and even gave up the chance to appear in a cup final by doing so. all because he feels he will better himself under a great manager in MON and will be doing so whilst playing for a huge club, which he acknowledges, regardless of his allegiance or 'roots' as he put it.

stop the whinging, support the lad and let's all hope he is as much of a success as fletch has been

"Sorry for something I said when I was a young kid. I can't actually remember saying it, it was so long ago, and it certainly isn't how I feel nowadays, but I thought I should apologise seeing as some prepubescent kids in the crowd seem to be hung up on it still."

why should he beg your forgiveness for telling the truth.
We would have given him a few games now and then. so he had to bite the bullet and sign for your little club. even the boro didnt want him.:)
