Has anyone's view on Stuart Donald changed in the last few weeks ?

When will people realise that we are a f***ing terrible purchase to anyone with half a business brain? Sunderland AFC is not a saleable asset to anyone other than to someone who wants a vanity project.

We could have a lot worse than Stewart Donald in charge of the club, he's not minted but he never said he was.

But but but he bought the club with parachute payments....... He bought the club when no one else would take it on and it was on Ellis Short's terms.

When we perform better at all levels of football - retain youth players and improve quality of coaching, scout and sign better players at good fees, over perform not under perform, I’ll change my mind. Not from a bit of performance on camera.

just unbelievable

he took 25 mill in parachute payments out of the club

and people still spout this shite?

amazing
Does anyone know what was the investment from their own money?

I could find it out, its documented somewhere, will try find link

its not much though

thats why this PR by Charlie in netflux, and in every paper and radio station since is just lies

we had X income and X outgoings

none of thoe figures included the parachute payments

thats literally why you get giving them, to counter thouse outgoings

he has convinced people that we didnt have any

The lack of funds from the beginning was startling.
When they were talking about changing stadium name , changing club crest even to make a few quid and really changing anything at the club for a pittance of money
Me and a few others called them out from very early days and got slated on here.
But , has anyone changed there view on him and methven after recent documentary and interviews etc ?
No, supported him then and support him now.

Like the bloke, he cares.
We were a basket case, ruined by Ellis Shorts negligence.
I hope he stays , but suspect he has enough people who want him to fuck off.
His biggest mistake was not realising how big a task was and us getting under his skin.

Those saying they shouldn’t have taken it on. What should have happened? Ellis? Bain? Gone bust?

Southampton in administration, minus ten points, league 1 2009
Southampton promoted to PL 2012

We need our own Liebherr and Cortese
and it's this hope that keeps me going because I don't care what anyone says, looking at the respective positions of the two clubs at the same moment in time (us now, Southampton 2009) we are a FAR MORE attractive prospect to buy in every regard, vanity project or otherwise.

He didn't take 25m of parachute payments out of the club, it was an agreement on the sale with Short that it was going to be used for that to clear debt, so the club was sold as being almost "debt free" when it actually wasn't. Don't make up f***ing lies.

The main problem was they weren't clear about it from the start and seemingly tried to hide how the club was financed/purchased as they didn't put much money in, probably as we're now seeing that they couldn't afford to.

SD comes across as a generally nice lad, but in my opinion he's not ruthless enough to run a successful football club, However you can also flip that and say CM is ruthless enough but some fans don't like him for it..

Just another day in the life of Sunderland Association Football Club...

It's blatantly obvious that he thought a club as big as Sunderland would moonwalk back into the championship and he could sell us for a tidy profit. That gamble failed and now he looks fucked. Even Charlie cut his losses and fucked off.
