Harry Kane

Exactly, do you want to be a pub quiz answer or win actual tangible trophy's for the first time in your career - daft of him to stay imo
I think the opposite. Shearer for example is remembered because of his record, not for winning the PL.
go even further back, Dixie Dean is only known for his goals. Not trophies

Signing a new contract at spurs just confirms he has no ambition besides a record that doesn’t really exist except with the football was invented in 1992 mob, they’ve zero chance of winning the league
The top division goal scoring record will probably never be beaten. Given the way football has evolved since the 60s given the amount of league games/subs/goals scored per season then Shearer's record is more relatable to current football, hence the PL record.

If you look at Kane's goal to appearance ratio it's very close to Greavsie, it's just Kane hasn't been able to play as many games in his 10 seasons to get anywhere near Greavsie's total. There's also the fact there were more goals per game in Greavsie's time so more goals for players. An interesting stat is that for every goal scored in the Premier League/top division, Kane scores them quicker than Greavsie did and there's more explained in detail here.

When you look at more than just the total goals, you may realise just how good Kane has been, and still is. Aye maybe like Greavsie, Kane may not win the league but Kane would have a legacy that would be of more interest to the footballing world if he were to break the PL record (more so if he beat the 283 top flight goals Shearer got in 550 odd games) than him winning the Bundesliga.

2 clubs agreed a fee but ultimately its down to the player if he wants to leave

had spurs chased him their fans would have been in uproar
Their fans will be in uproar when they don’t have £90m to spend.

Just like ours are about the prospect of Ross leaving for nowt.

Bosman rules - good luck to both of them if they can take the flak.

Liverpool fans gave McManaman a hard time before he went to Madrid if I recall correctly.

Where's he going to go? Real Madrid have scaled back on big name signings. Barcelona are a basket case. Italy is probably out of the question. Leaves PSG or Saudi both of which are laughable
Real Madrid have scaled back on big name signings?

They’ve just spent £100m on Bellingham and will sign Mbappe next year

They also spent serious money on Tchouameni.

Compared to how trigger happy they used to be they have. At one stage signing Mbappe this year also would've been nothing to them

They don’t need to buy him, he’s already there for next year, makes sense not to offer outlandish money for a fella who is nailed on to join them, even the most trigger happy Spaniard ain’t falling for that.

There will be some release clause in his contract triggered after a few seasons or something

If I was Kane I'd stay with spuds another year. Stick 20 odd goals away. Then go on a free, with a massive signing on fee, to any European giant. Madrid, Barca, Juve, Bayern, they'd all be clamouring for his signature on a free. 3 years out there, win a couple trophies, maybe even a Champions League, then back to the Premier League to get another 30 goals or so over 3 seasons, with any mid-table team, to beat that utter prick's record.

He'd be beyond rich, have a few medals, and he'd put that absolute knob down a peg or 2. Happy days.

I honestly think spurs will get relegated with this move whose going to score their goals for them
