Rub it with a pumice then smear loads of Body Shop hemp hand protector before you go to bed so it soaks in overnight.

Smother your feet in Vasoline, then put socks on over the top, leave overnight do this for a week and you will have soft feet.

Edit :Maybe wait till winter to do this.

My guess is that he is resting his elbows against something while using the computer or games console. If he sticks a plaster over the callous to protect it, it will soon disappear.
