Well my cats have always been well trained and come home to use their litter tray but I know some people don't bother. Which is why a lot of people (especially on here) are cat haters. If you see them spray water which might deter them. I've no idea if the natural deterrent sprays that you can spray around your garden work at all.

I've never used one but the sonic devices you can set up in your garden seem to work based on online reviews I have read.

You can buy these little transmitter things which give off a clicking at a frequency they don't like. Harmless and about £30
