Having just watched MOTD I am now officially confused as to what is and what isn't deemed to be handball.
The penalty that Spurs got was dubious by today's interpretation, personally I think it was, because it hit Lesccott's arm and denied Spurs an opportunity, but in another game it won't be given.
All the authorities have done is introduce more doubt and confusion into the game along with the abortion that they call the offside law.

Lescott had his arm up in a odd place he knew it was gonna be a pen so tried to move it out the way.

Is a difference when a player has it down by his sides and gets drilled at him for 5-10 yards away.

How do you think the offside rule is a abortion?

All hand balls should be pens or free kicks. All offsides should be offside, fuck phase. Problem solved.

It would be utterly ridiculous that man, you would simply have people attempting to chip the ball against someones hand when in and around the box
Well let's just leave it how it is with no one knowing the rules then.

I think most of the time when they're not given it's because the ref hasn't seen it properly rather than their interpretation of the rule,

What game was it last weekend where a ball was played to a player in a clear offside position and he knew he was, he lifted his foot and let the ball run on to his marra on the wing who then played it into the box to the aforementioned player who had turned and ran into the box and scored.
The defenders have no chance.

It's a complete lottery as to what is given or not, I don't think the referees even know now.
Take Mason in our game yesterday, he gave handball against Larsson in the first half when the ball was fired at him from a few yards. I thought fair enough he has set his stall out and is going to give those decisions today.

When the same situation occurred several times after that he didn't give a single one.

So if a Sunderland player scored screamer from 30 yards but Defoe was standing a half a yard offside in the box you would be more than happy for that to be called offside?

But you would be happy if a player hit the ball of O'Shea's hand from a yard for that to be giving a penalty?

Hand ball rule is a piece of piss to understand tbh. Not sure how people are confused?

Referees are just f***ing shite though and need some serious training to get up to top level standard.

My God I agree wth you, well said that man.
Why my god ? I'm one of the most clued in posters on the board when I can be arsed.

No I'd be gutted cause we've conceded a pen but thems the rules.

Consistency would be a start. Perry Mason gave handball against us when the ball was kicked less than a yard away. Exactly the same thing happened a minute later by Burnley but all he did was his impression of a bald man pushing an invisible space hopper into an invisible garden shed.

It would be a farce man:lol::lol:

Get in the box and players would be trying to chip the ball against someone hand, players would be waddling about the box with box arms behind there back:lol::lol:

So you're saying if defoe was standing half s hard offside on the right side of the pitch while Johnson slammed in a 40 yard screamer from the left hand side then the goal wouldn't stand as Defoe was offside?
