Yes that makes sense. Prior to the arrival of 'gypos (sic) Hendon was a paragon of honesty and chock full of law abiding citizens.
Leave your doors open etc etc

Sure they made an appearance years ago near the gas tanks and there was hell on about it, think they got moved on in the end, a mix of the coppers and the local villains.

Aye, in the 90's when thefts & burgalries went up higher than usual.

they are fully visible from the road leading down spelter works road and also leading along past the gas tanks as there are more of them parking up as i just past 20 minutes ago

Anyone who thinks they are anything less than a bunch of animals, has never had any experience of them, or is one.

there was two families of them sitting near us getting fish and chips in the Waterfront on friday. Other than being a little loud I thought they were absolutely fine, had a bit crack on with one of the blokes who said loads of them had travelled to Shields from 'Chester le street/ Birtley way' for their Good Friday dinner. A lot better behaved than loads of the pond life you see kicking around the place.

Can we not get them to set up site on the ex-Vaux plot to give the council a bloody nose.
