Grown men wearing replica shirts

Why would a grown up want to wear one for anything other than the reasons I gave? They are for bairns man. Honestly people wearing them on holiday is truly awful. This isn't just Sunderland tops by the way it's any club. Very chavvy.

Know a lad (mid thirties) who got a good deal on an England replica kit so bought the full whack. Got some holidays at work thinking a lot of his mates would do likewise. Nee bugger else did, so he ended up sat in full shirt shorts and socks alone in his living room drinking cans and eating dry roasted peanuts at 2pm in the afternoon.

I have to agree with @Mrjardine on this one. People can of course wear what they wish and they will regardless of what people think, which is great. It's all about opinions. There are some class looking strips about and when I see our new away top, I actually wish I was young again so I could wear the full strip. But to suggest a football kit looks smart on an adult supporter is just wrong. Wearing a three piece suit is smart, wearing a tie with a dimple and non-matching pocket square is smart, brogues are smart. A football top is considered less than casual imo.

Still wear my older England home shirts with jeans when shopping and the like at times. I know where the thing about footy tops comes from, it's the gravy stained mag type who never wear anything but. They turn up to do's, nights out and even job interviews in them.
I interviewed a bloke in his 30's who turned up in tracky bottoms and the old mag top with the big star in the middle. I asked him if he really wanted the job or if the dole had sent him, to which the fella didn't reply.

I actually like the strip by the way. I would just pick my moments to sport it. Popping out to the metro or out for a spot of lunch wouldn't be that moment.
Backtracking of the best kind, after walloping and criticising ordinary lads and lasses and calling them charvers. Sorry I know we had an impasse to not criticise each other but....

Where's the backtrack Janey? I think it's chavvy to wear a replica top going about your everyday business.

Wouldn't wear one to a job interview or a meal out but I don't see the problem with wearing it going shopping or something. I know people who have bought a full kit before, I have a bit of banter with them about it but apart from that I let them get on with it
