There was actually a better live version of Dreaming on youtube but it must have been pulled as that one was the only one I could find last night........

Aye that's the one I was trying to find too. Lots of close ups of him going completely mental on the skins.

f***ing excellent drummer, absolutely top class. People go on about Debbie, but imho Blondie owed a lot of their success to him, as the other reason why they stood apart from the crowd.

Bill Ward...great drummer and gave Sabbath a bit of swing.

Nigel Preston from The Cult. Listen to Live at the Lyceum.

Ian Paice

Alan White from Yes

Charlie Watts

I was gonna mention Nigel Preston but didn't think many people would have known about him. You are spot on with that comment - live at the Lyceum is class, I saw them twice on that tour and several more times before he died. Used to love to get down the front and go mental to 'Horse Nation'

John Maher.

For the non-punks on here, that's the one in the Buzzcocks who could play an instrument.

That'll mean nothing to the musos on here mate, he hasn't got long hair and a drum castle. Taste, groove and restraint are usually overlooked qualities in a drummer.

I remember my mate (a drummer) saying he went to see Dire Straits and the drummer had about 4 thousand drums but didn't actually play them, except to show off on the start of Money for nothing (or summit)

What a load of self indulgent ego ridden shite.

Rick Buckler
Slim Jim Phantom
Tony Thompson
Mark Brzezicki (sp?)

And what about these Artic Monkeys and Super Furry Something-or-others?

They look like they fell down from the ugly tree and hit every branch down and the idea of a decent wardrobe is a concept lost on them. And the last time I heard music like that the TV was on the blink. And as for their fans.....least I know where the inspiration for The Waking Dead come from.

What a pile of incomprehensible crap the modern groups are!

This bit is a wind up shirley?

Never heard that expression 'drum castle' but I'm definitely nicking it!

Someone on here suggested Peter Criss - he has to be as guilty as your example, surrounded by a never ending drum kit and playing 4/4 on the hihats and snare all night long.
