Great North 5k Run

Well I done yesterday's parkrun in 28:01 which I'm quite pleased with. Bang on the better end of what I expected.

Not sure how easy it will be but I'm hoping to reduce my time to under the 25mins mark for the GNR 5k. Hopefully starting to run more often will get me "running fit" as, like I said, it's practically the only exercise I don't really do other than at footy.

Anyone got any tips to improve time other than just "going for a long run?" - a mate of mine suggested hill sprints, not sure if they will help?

Give me a shout next time you fancy it mate if you're on your own and I'll pick you up. I ran it with my bro yesterday (who embarrassed me with a time of 22mins!)

Sprints definitely help. It improves your cardio rate.
