I just don't get Southgate's apparent fascination for Saka.Saka taking the fifth penalty will forever remain one of the most baffling decisions of all time. Never once looked like scoring.

Saka was generally more impactful on the teams performances on both sides of the ball than Grealish was over the course of this tournament. He wasn't great last night though, granted.I just don't get Southgate's apparent fascination for Saka
What’s GS gonna do? Play him lessoooooooooffffffff, not sure he should be coming out with that like
What’s GS gonna do? Play him less
Also puts to bed the “why not Grealish/Sterling/Stones” shite
Have you seen some of the posts. Sterling is being huntedIt was already put to bed iirc in the presser this morning by Southgate
Some people didn’t believe him when GS said it. They said he was just protecting his players.Probably could have waited and the gaffer to clarify it at the press conference. I'm sure he would have.
But really I see nothing wrong with that tweet. He's not slagged the boss off.
Anar. Imagine that. Sorry Sako marra I know I brought you on for a penna but Jack wants it.Have you seen some of the posts. Sterling is being hunted

I find that strange because he deliberately subbed 2 players on to take the penalties, so he clearly had a plan and wasn’t just going asking if they fancied it or not
Could have cost us the game. They had a corner in the last minute of play. Bringing on a team of attackers could have easily cost us.He was desperate to leave or until the last moment possible. There were two opportunities to bring them on whilst they were stood on the sideline, but he held back to the point where they nearly didn't get on at all.
It would have been far too attacking!
What was bizarre was that when they did come on Rashford played right back, despite the fact the Saka was playing as a forward and he's had plenty of Premier League games playing as a full back.
In hindsight, yes it was.Southgate choose the list and it was the wrong one.
define wrong list , could be asked players and didnt want to be in the first 5 sterling jaded after 120 mins of running could be his legs had gone , no one will know if you wernt out there on the grass with them.Southgate choose the list and it was the wrong one.

..but Southgate did ask Grealish twice and Grealish said yes...then went to Saka! Bit of a Mike Bassett approach imo.In hindsight, yes it was.
If the dice had landed the other way then the saves from Pickford could have got us through.
If the shoot-out was replayed those players may well have buried their kicks and we'd all be celebrating. Such is the way of penalty shoot-outs.
Maybe he was down to do the first sudden death?..but Southgate did ask Grealish twice and Grealish said yes...then went to Saka! Bit of a Mike Bassett approach imo.
i pointed out exactly this footage out on the thread last night ..........no one took a blind bit of notice
Looks to me like Philips, (hand up )for 6, then Grealish 7, Sterling (hiding ) 8
He wasn't, Grealish has posted he was asked twice by Southgate if he fancied taking one and he said yes..this was for the first 5.Maybe he was down to do the first sudden death?
