Grayson update....

Haway man, he's just the same as the other two. He gets an easy ride on here.

Lens said it'd be good if we were relegated as it'd make a transfer easier for him, and Kone has acted like a twat for a year.

Khazri does likely want to leave, yet I still haven't seen this 'bad attitidue' from him. Moyes slaughtered him for his weight last summer, yet he looked the same as he's always done, and he works hard on the pitch. He's done nothing 'twattish' that we know of

It's like your typical JOS rallying cry. It actually means f*** all.

Actions speak louder than words both on and off the pitch.

Ferguson had the right idea when players got too cocky and thought they could do what they liked.....Beckham sold, Keane sold, Ronaldo sold, Stam sold. If the club and manager want to retain control they sell the protagonists and move on.

I thought it was an encouraging statement, although I did wonder if he was playing to the gallery with that 'drive' bit (very familiar from this board).

He'll have known the score and been briefed before he decided to take the job.
It'll all simply been confirmed to him since he's took it, he'll know what he has to do.
The question is what genuine backing he's going to get from the Chairman.
I think given a fair crack Grayson will do a good job, I don't think he's anybody's fool just look at the shit he had to put up with at Leeds.

This could also be interpreted as Grayson getting his excuses in early as he realises the depth of the problem here and also that his usual motivational methods aren't going to work on a fair chunk of our multi millionaire early retirees .

This could be a rough old season. Grayson is a lower league manager who's never had to deal with kind of shite before
Think the deep seated problems are proving just as difficult to deal with in this league as the prem

As opposed to a crippling wage bill and a squad full of players who don't want to be here? Kone won't even run man, he fkn jogs. Do you really think we're gonna do well with him in the team?

Gonna be great having Kone and Lens when we're in league 1 innit? They'll really put a shift in then.

The wage bill is sustainable as it stands. The question is how do you either motivate decent international players you already own or sell them for what they're worth and reinvest in players with a better attitude AND quality. Dumbing down on quality and sitting bottom of the league at Christmas might make you feel better but dressing it up as progress is ludicrous.

We aren't going to get rid of them all but he's clearly working on it. Getting rid of Lens and Kone and replace them with players who want to be here will be a big step. I don't think he'd have said days if things weren't pretty close.
They also have to have the skills to improve the team. Simply filling the squad with players who want to play for us and can run but that is all, are not what we need.

This is what he said on the 5 live interview about the coming season when asked about the Gibson debacle, so it's nothing coming from the club.

Also kone has his smiley face on safc.com twice advertising new sponsors looking happy.

Of course they do. The concern is that Short won't give him the chance to actually bring the right players in.

If we keep the rotten fkrs, we'll be bottom of the league. If we sell the rotten fuckers, we'll be bottom of the league and a dozen million quid better off.

Pick one.

I'll tell you what'll please the people that frequent this board, the absence of a team that doesn't show them up every step of the way, a club that doesn't take the piss season after season, players that give a fuck, oh! and the odd win every month or so and people like you that have go at people because they've put up with f***ing shite for years.
That's my point

Or it is indicative of a fan base who have heard it all before and have seen very little action to follow up words
Valid point

It's not just Sunderland though is it. There will be similar types of Kone, Lens, Gibsons at all clubs.

Fans are seeing this and the game is becoming less popular and imploding on itself.

Football is financed principally by Sky who are presently taking a battering from the digibox revolution and will not be able to sustain such losses. The next five years should be very interesting.

"There are players who will leave in the next few days and weeks while the window is still open and new ones will come in,” Grayson said.

”The ones we bring in are going to have to be the right types, with hunger and desire.

"I've said to the players that if anyone doesn't want to be at the football club my door is open and I'll drive you to wherever you want to go to.

"I want players who want to play for this football club.”

Haway the Grayson!

heard it all before, action is needed

TBH, if Khazri wants away, after last season, can we really blame the lad?

he isnt even very good, no point anyone getting steamed up over him

You'd prefer he admitted he wants half the squad gone but no one will take them cause they're shit and lazy
I've reached a point with Sunderland managers that I'd like to see a plan put into action please.

People hoopla'ing on here because he's said something bland.

Whooppeeee
