Grayson not getting carried away by Sunderland's win at Norwich....

Let's be honest, one game doesn't make a season and I have no doubt that there will be difficult periods to come.

That said.....

I have been really pleased with the last 9 days. Grayson is positive (unlike Moyes) and the fans are united behind him. For the first time in ages, I'm looking forward to games

Very much reminds me of Big Sam in that he gets it. He gets the club. Seems the type of personality that unites a dressing room and the players enjoy playing for too. Poor mans Big Sam.

Doing very well....at least he has got some points in his first six games!

In the Championship. Even the Mags looked good in the Championship.

I'm hoping Grayson does well (obviously) and I think he's a likeable bloke but it's ridiculous to do a straight comparison between his performance this year and the performances of previous managers who just happened to be managing in possibly the strongest league in the world.

It's like boasting you get better results than your mate on FIFA when you're on beginner and he's on pro.

He can only play whats in front of him...with what most would agree was an awful hand...he has "managed"(which others you seem to defend did not!) this hand very well(so far) and although it is very early days he is doing a very good job.He even attends the under 23s which many before him were sporadic at best in attending....there is a good feel to what he is doing which most really appreciate given the circumstances he inherited from "big name bosses". The other managers in the "best league in the world " as you put it were generally given a boat load of money and bought trash and largely ignored the Academy -he does not have such luxury...so give him a bit of credit

It's early days but at least its puts alot of our worst fears to bed. I was certainly worried about a bad start, a continuation of the downward spiral and christ knows from there.

But it looks like a very large proportion of this squad are good enough for this league and we have a midfield squad as good any possibly.

A few more shrewd buys in the place of likely leavers kone and khasri and it might be a generally good season. I think we will lack enough firepower and pace in overall team to really threaten though.

Saying all that, Ive been pleasantly surprised how poor the standard has been - so far. When watching odd championship games I seem to recall alot more pace in the teams, but it's been plod so far.

There will be tough tests to come of course. But if they continue to work as hard in every game it will nullify many of the danger men we will face hopefully.

Big Sam is overrated on here like. We were struggling until the last 6 games when we did the great escape. Apart from that Big Sam was absolutely shite.

That season was the first time in a decade I was resigned to the fact we were going down.

I disagree. Has a very good squad for this level. Has done well, got the points, created a good atmosphere, but we have a strong squad for the Championship.

I hope he'll manage to keep the mood up and get the points needed in the next 44 games.
