Grayson apologists

I didn’t want Grayson from day 1. I sat in utter bemusement with people lauding him and fans around me at Norwich singing “we’ve got Simon Grayson”, as if it was something to be proud of.

The bloke is mediocrity personified. He’s the sort of manager you’ll look back in 20 years and think “almost forgot about him, did he really manage us?”

Thank goodness we got shot of him. He’d have taken us down, no doubt in my mind.

I was at Norwich, it was a good day out. We could have been 3-0 down by the half hour mark but in fairness we were worthy winners by the end.

I did cringe at the song a bit, but like @rocky says the fans were just getting behind him.

He had decent support while he was here from the fans, no major chanting against him.

I didn't call for him to be sacked after 4 or 5 games though. And I said "we have a long way to go of course."

Coleman's demeanour and attitude is a million miles ahead of Grayson though. And that was evident when he was Wales manager.

A mate of mine works at the club and he said the atmosphere was diabolical when Moyes and then Grayson were in charge. A few weeks on with Coleman in post and it’s back to being a good place to work apparently.

I'd heared the Moyes rumors but not the Grayson
Moyes I can understand

He spent all summer backing him if anyone said owt negative towards him!

Look I wanted Grayson gone after 10 games or so, it was clear he was out of depth. And he started having digs at the fans. Totally unacceptable.
But @rocky supporting in the summer was perfectly fair. Even if he wasn't your preferred choice you have to give him a chance.

I thought he was about the best we could have hoped for at the time. But I was wrong.

I'm no footballing mastermind but I know what I can see on a football pitch.

The players didn't play for Grayson - they weren't committed, had no strategy, no plan, nor confidence in his methods.

The media bullshitters were the ones supporting him... talking about his record at Preston and how he's a lovely bloke... Mark Lawrenson, Garry Monk and others amongst them. And it's that kind of insular boys-club mentality in football that I cannot abide.

The bloke was out of his depth and should've gone much earlier (as should Moyes).

Time to retire from public life.

We have a long way to go of course.

But Coleman has shown immediately what basic organisation can do. He talked more sense in his first press conference than Grayson had all season.

Time and time again we get people saying it's the players not the manager.
It's nearly always the manager.

It showed when BSA took over.

His first press conference was almost a word for word copy of Grayson.

Apart from Grayson and his immediate family I didn't realise there were many apologists posting on here...
