I normally don't either, but first impressions stick with some people.

The portico of Newcastle Central is now traffic-free, giving a safer, cleaner perception when coming out of the station. Before, you used to have to play a game of dodgems with the speeding taxis.

Mind you, as soon as you see the O3 scrap heap on the hill, you see Newcastle for the dump it really is. :D

I have never seen more than about 5/6 people get on the 0540 at Sunderland, and it’s never discounted either, so not really the demand for an earlier GC train, until it gets to York of course
